About Erik

Erik Fitzpatrick graduated from high school (1992) in Wellesley, Massachusetts where he grew up. A psychology major at MassBay Community College, he also pursued creative writing as a hobby, honing his skill as a poet. Reading his poetry publicly helped him with public speaking. With an Associates Degree (2000), Erik concentrated on Powerpoint and Microsoft Word in a comprehensive computer certificate program focusing on Microsoft Office at Boston University (2009). Teaching "Photovoice," a class which helps people with mental health issues become visual researchers in their communities through photography and narrative writing, he has the opportunity to contribute to reducing the stigma of mental illness. In his spare time, Erik plays chess, and recently joined a chess club that meets in Harvard Square.
